Ten Things About Me
one ///// I love the outdoors
If I can be outside, then I want to be outside. There’s just something about nature that is peaceful and never fails to brighten my mood. It’s all just so beautiful and amazing, and always reminds me of the greatness and power of God to create something as wonderful as this planet.
two ///// I want a garden and chickens
I cannot wait until I have my own house. Everything about it sounds like so much fun to me. Being able to decorate it the way I've always dreamed about is what I'm most looking forward to, but having my own garden and getting chickens is a close second. I've recently discovered my obsession with plants and I can't wait to grow that love into a real garden with fruits and vegetables. Not only will it be fun, but I think it will also save a lot of money. I love eating fruits and veggies, but they can be so expensive when you get them from the grocery store. The same thing goes with eggs. Not to mention farm fresh eggs have the most beautiful colors. I watched the house of a friend of my mom last summer and had to feed their chickens and thought they were adorable, and have wanted my own ever since.
three ///// I want to travel the world
I've always been so interested in the world and all of the beautiful countries there are, and have always wanted to travel out of the United States. Some of the places on my bucket list are Italy, Greece, France, England, Iceland, Germany, and Australia.
four ///// I want to go on an overseas mission trip
My best friend and I have always wanted to go on a mission trip to another country. She really wants to go to Uganda, which I think would be amazing, but I’m honestly open to anywhere (as long as I’m not worried about not being safe while I’m there). I think going on an overseas mission trip to a country that barely has anything would be such a humbling experience. I’ve been on four in the United States which were all amazing and gave me such a new perspective on life. I think doing missions work is important no matter where you go (it’s just as important in your own neighborhood as it is in a third-world country), but I do think that going on at least one overseas would be a life changing experiencing.
five ///// I want to go to all fifty states at least once in my life
The world is a beautiful place and I want to go to as many countries as I can throughout my life, but our own country has some very beautiful scenery as well. One thing I decided to add to my “travel bucket list” a couple years ago was to go to every state at least once in my life. Each state has so many different things to offer and I want to explore the great country that I’m so proud to live in. I’ve already been to fourteen so only thirty-six left! I might make write some posts in the future about places I want to go and things I want to see in each state.
six ///// I cannot wait to be a mom
I love kids, especially babies. I’m that weird person who just sits and watches any baby they see. I cannot wait until I have my own kids to love and take care of. I think it will be so fun to raise them and see what kind of people they turn into as they grow up.
seven ///// I'm a Type Five Enneagram
For a little background, the enneagram is a nine-sided figure that represents nine personality types that are all interconnected in some way. I plan on making a more in depth post on what I've learned about it because I think it's pretty amazing and so neat. As a type five I am considered The Investigator. Fives are very observant, love reading and learning, tend to withdraw and isolate themselves when they feel they don't have enough "social energy" left, are very minimalistic, self-controlled and focused, and have many walls up around themselves. If you know me at all I don't think this one will come as a surprise to you. Every time I read something about how fives act or think, it amazes me how perfectly it describes myself. Honestly, it's nice to know there are other people who think and act the same way I do.
eight ///// I know how to knit
During high school, my physics and chemistry teacher started a knitting club because she was obsessed with it and wanted to share her love with us. It was so fun learning how to knit and going from not knowing how to do anything to making scarves and hats for people. I love doing it during the winter and it always gives me a good Christmas gift for people if I don’t know what to get them.
nine ///// I love cooking and baking
Over the past couple years I’ve been trying to learn how to cook and bake more things and have been really enjoying it. I can't wait to keep adding delicious things to my recipe book!
ten ///// I’m a Division II athlete
I’m on the Malone women’s golf team and love it. It is a lot of work and going to practice is the last thing I want to do after a long, exhausting day of classes and a pile of work waiting for me on my desk when I'm done, but it is all worth it. I’ve made so many great friendships just in my first year on the team. One of them even became one of my best friends and my new roommate next semester.
