My Favorite Skin Care Products

There is not much I love more than skin care. My boyfriend always makes fun of how obsessed with it I am. I could spend hours (and thousands of dollars haha) at Target just after going through the skin care section. Because of my obsession, I wanted to make a post about all of my favorite skin care products, and why I love them so much. It is so important to take care of your skin, and now that I'm almost in my twenties, I want to start using products that are going to make the quality of my skin better and also get a head start on reducing aging. Here are a few of the things I am currently using and loving:

#1 → Rose Water
First of all, rose water smells absolutely amazing. I wish I could use it as a perfume haha. But it also makes my face feel so refreshed and clean, no matter what time of day I use it. There are many benefits of using rose water on your skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness of your skin, can help to get rid of acne, excess oil, dermatitis and excema, and it can aid in the healing of scars, cuts and wounds because of its antibacterial properties. It also helps to hydrate, revitalize and moisturize your skin, and can keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay. After using rose water myself, I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. It has been a lot less red and irritated, more moisturized, and my dark under-eye circles have lightened up. This is the rose water I use currently.

#2 → Coconut Oil
Like rose water, coconut oil smells heavenly. Everytime I use it I feel like I’m lying on the beach. Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial along with moisturizing so it is great when used as a nighttime moisturizer because it will also clean your face. It not only works as a good skin moisturizer. You could also use it to moisturize dry, chapped lips. For your body, coconut oil can be used like lotion for your hands or wherever you suffer dry skin or cellulite, and it can be helpful when shaving your legs. You could even use it to make a nice body scrub. This is the coconut oil I use currently.

#3 → Face Masks
There are so many kinds of face masks that it is hard to tell you about what their benefits are, but you can pretty much find one for anything you’re suffering from. They can clear your skin of acne and breakouts by refining your pores, increase hydration and moisturize your skin, reduce fine lines, wrinkles and brown spots, soften your skin, diminish hyper-pigmentation, and make your skin tighter. I love face masks and try to use one at least once a week, if not twice. I can always tell a big difference in the way my skin looks and feels after I take it off. This one, and this one are my current favorites.

#4 → Micellar Water
I hadn’t heard about micellar water until recently, but it is awesome. In my opinion, it removes makeup so much better than normal makeup remover wipes, especially eye makeup. I found that makeup wipes would dry out my skin and cause breakouts. Micellar water doesn't do either of those things. As well as removing makeup, it also helps to hydrate your skin and keep it clear. This is the micellar water I'm currently using.

#5 → Witch Hazel
I was suffering with some small breakouts last year and I could not figure out how to get rid of them for the life of me. My mom recommended using witch hazel and it worked like a charm. It not only helps with the redness and size of acne, but you can also use it as a toner all over your face during your skin care routine. I suffer from very dry skin, so it’s always been hard for me to find a toner that doesn’t cause it to be rough and flaky, and witch hazel does the job.

#6 → H2O
I can’t stress enough how important drinking water is if you want to take care of your skin. Water not only hydrates your body internally, but it also hydrates your skin while it delivers essential nutrients to your skin cells, helping with fine lines and wrinkles, and also improves its elasticity. You don't even have to be drinking water to receive its benefits; a cold shower or relaxing bath can calm your nerves and reduce stress, which can negatively affect your skin. Cold water tightens your pores and prevents them from getting clogged, and a cold water bath can eliminate the redness of your skin. Applying a cold compress to your eyes can help to reduce under-eye inflammation. I can always tell just by the appearance and texture of my skin whether or not I have been drinking enough water. I also love adding lemon to my water, just to give it a little bit of taste.

I hope that you enjoyed today's post, and maybe even learned a little bit as well. Thanks for reading!
