how to stay organized in college
Between sixteen credit hours, golf practice and tournaments, and trying to have
one ///// use a planner
If I didn't have my planner, I wouldn't be able to able to keep track of any of the things I have to do. I put my schedule and things that are due for each class on the left side, and all the things I need to do on the right side. I use a different colored pen for each class so it's easier to keep track of. I write everything that’s due that week every Sunday night, and write down the scheduled exam days at the beginning of the semester so I remember where they are so I can start studying at least a week in advance (I’m definitely still not a pro at studying, but I will make a post about some studying tips I have very soon).
two ///// don’t procrastinate
If you wait until the day or two before something is due to start it (which I tend to do a lot, but trying my best to stop haha), then you’re going to have a ton of things to get done in one night and, if you’re anything like me, that’ll just make you not want to do it even more. If you do it in advance you’ll not only be less stressed about everything you need to get done, but you’ll probably also do better on whatever it is you’re working on because you’re not rushing to get it done before the time it’s due.
three ///// keep your desk area clean
If my desk is a mess, then I will keep getting distracted and just start putting everything away instead of getting my work done. A couple weeks ago when I was supposed to be studying for two exams the next day, I spent an hour cleaning my room because every time I sat down to study I would see something else that needed put away.
four ///// have folders/binders for each class
One thing that is key to do is have separate folders for every class so you can keep all your papers straight. If I just had one giant binder filled with everything from all of my classes, I think I would lose my mind.
five ///// look at your syllabi
Sometimes I forget to write things that are due in my planner, and a lot of the times professors don’t remind you of what is due the next class period or if you have an exam approaching in the next couple of weeks. They give you a syllabus at the beginning of the semester for a reason, so use it. I check mine every sunday night while I’m filling out my planner so I can add everything that’s due that week.
six ///// make to-do lists
Even though I have all of my assignments that are due and exams in my planner, I still like to have a separate list for things that I need to do. I'm a very visual person, and also thrive when I have my life planned out, so making a to-do list is key for me to get everything done.

Excellent advice for anyone. Will help the hs student and the career person😊
