Winter Favorites
I have been
so busy the past few weeks of this semester and haven’t been able to write
much, but I also realized that I haven’t done a “favorites” post in a while, so
I figured I would make another one of those for the past few months. I’ve been
really enjoying this semester, even though I already have so much to do and I’m
only a month in. I think I’ve finally found a good routine and have really
gotten used to college. I’ve added some things to my daily and weekly routines
that I’ve been loving, so here are some of them.
One ///// La Croix
I used to
hate sparkling water. I thought it was absolutely disgusting. I drink a lot of
water throughout the day and love it, but when that’s the only thing you drink,
it starts to get really boring. I made the mistake of going to the vending machine
in my dorm building and got a Diet Coke, so then I kept doing that whenever I would
get tired of just drinking water. I really didn’t want to make it a habit because
it’s obviously not the best thing for you. I had tried to drink sparkling water
a couple times this summer, but couldn’t get into it. I also wasn’t too fond of
Diet Coke the first time I had it either, so I figured I would just be patient
and maybe I would eventually enjoy sparkling water. So, I bough some cans of key
lime La Croix at Target and started drinking it. After drinking a couple over
the course of a couple days I started to really enjoy it, and I’m so happy
because it’s so much healthier than Diet Coke and is a fun substitute for my
normal water. I just bought a pack of the passionfruit flavor, and (oh my) it
is so good!
Two ///// Essential Oils
I’ve loved diffusing
essential oils for a while now. I got some new ones when I was on vacation over
winter break and absolutely love them. They smell so good and fresh, and since I
can’t burn candles in my dorm room, they are a great alternative and make my
room smell so good.
Three ///// Bluetooth Headphones
I work out
almost every day during the week and I was really starting to get annoyed with
the cord on my headphones and having to constantly find a place to keep my
phone, so I decided to order a pair of Bluetooth headphones off Amazon. I just
got them a few days ago so I’ve only used them once, but I can already tell they
will be a favorite. It was so nice being able to just keep my phone in my coat
pocket and not have to worry about it.
Four ///// KIND Bars
Oh my
goodness. When I first bought these I really didn’t think I was going to like
them that much. Aside from Clif Bars, I’m not a huge granola/ protein bar fan. So,
when I tried KIND Bars and loved them I was really excited. I love the Caramel
Almond and Sea Salt bar and have some of the Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate which
also look really good. Each bar has less than ten grams of sugar, and around eight
grams of protein so it makes for a nice snack.
Five ///// Bullet Journaling
I’m still
not very good at remembering to do my bullet journal every day, but I enjoy it
when I do remember to. I currently have a sleep tracker and a chapter tracker
for the book of Ezekiel which I am almost done reading.
Six ///// Zumba
My last
favorite for this post is Zumba. Every Monday night there is a Zumba class in
our gym here on campus and one of my friends got me to go with her a few months
ago. I was kind of on the fence about it because I don’t like to dance at all
and that’s literally all Zumba is. But after the first class I was hooked and
have gone pretty much every Monday night since. It is so much fun and is a really
good workout in my opinion. It gets my heart rate up and I work up a good sweat.
Another thing I love about it is that it takes place of one of my cardio
sessions for the week, which I really do not enjoy (haha).
